City Council Hears Possible Criteria for Nuisance Ordinance | Local News

The City of Elizabethtown is considering a new criminal nuisance ordinance to help curb the disproportionate use of city services, such as police and fire calls, in response to criminal activity.

The need for the proposed ordinance, for which some criteria were shared Monday with Elizabethtown City Council, stems from multiple council discussions of the rise in sober living facilities or halfway houses that have strained the municipal police resources.
