Lee’s city council candidate touts background and experience in the private sector

LEE – Joseph Mastrangelo, a resident of Lee for 32 years, is on the ballot for city council in the election on Tuesday, November 2.

Lee voters can choose up to two candidates for councilor from incumbents Karl J. Matt (D); Lawrence J. Jones Jr. (R) and Mastrangelo (D).

Mastrangelo, a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Denver Automotive and Diesel College, has been the owner of Mastrangelo Truck Refinishers since 1990.

An Eagle Scout, he is married to former Lee Kimberly Isenecker, a longtime resident of Lee, and has a grown daughter-in-law and school-aged daughter.

“I see and hear so many people who sit and say what should and shouldn’t be done in their communities. In today’s world, I think it’s important that people are involved in their government. Go to meetings,
see who the officials are and learn how the system works. I have always done this and have had good results and created a good relationship, ”said Mastrangelo.

“I think my background as a business owner would be helpful. Budgets, pricing, negotiation and customer relations are all areas that I know well, ”he said.

“The difference being that I would be working for the benefit of a whole community,” added Democrat Lee.

“The town of Lee has many strengths, including our Parks and Highways Department, but most important is the diversity of its people. From housing estates to rural and agricultural areas. It would be a privilege to have the opportunity to serve such a community, ”said Mastrangelo.
