Paradise Valley candidates vote for mayor and city council

The deadline for applying for Paradise Valley applicants moved to 5 p.m. Monday.

In the end, several voted for mayor and city council and will face voters on August 2.

The candidates for mayor are incumbent Jerry Bien-Willner, who has held the position since 2018 before being re-elected in 2020, and current councilor Julie Pace.

Four council candidates also made the cut. Current council members Ellen Andeen, Paul Dembow and Vice Mayor Anna Thomasson will stand for re-election in August. All three have terms expiring this year. Christine Labelle was the only newcomer to stand for election.

Voters can only select one mayoral candidate and three council candidates when they go to vote on August 2 in the primary election.

The last day to register to vote is July 4, with early voting beginning July 6.
