Regular Meeting, Ethan Town Board, 5-9-2 – Mitchell Republic

Regular Meeting, Ethan Town Council, 5-9-2022 Ethan Town Council met in regular session on May 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Ethan Town Hall. Directors present were Gregg Thibodeau, Bob Riggs and Jason Koch. Municipal staff present: Dave Duba and Michele Pollreisz. Absent: Raquel Nesheim and Megan Perry, President Thibodeau, called the meeting to order and conducted the Pledge of Allegiance. Unless otherwise indicated, all motions were carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved on motion by Riggs, seconded by Koch. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of the April 11, 2022 meeting were approved on motion by Koch, seconded by Riggs. No minutes from the community center. FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Finance Officer reviewed the April 2022 financial reports. Discussed upcoming Finance/Budget Officer courses. PUBLIC WORKS REPORT: Water loss report discussed. Discussed 4th and Elm Road repairs for later this Spring/Summer. Fence topper discussed for ball diamond. Approved for purchase on motion by Riggs, seconded by Koch. Discussed a broken fridge in a concession stand. Approved on motion by Koch, seconded by Riggs to assist in the purchase of a new device. CITIZENS’ INPUT: The owners of Ammo Box are on hand to discuss the 4th of July street dance and the placing of restrictions on the west side of their business. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS: Motion by Riggs, seconded by Koch, to approve the claims. OLD CASE: Harmful Properties – Will send notices for unlicensed vehicles. NEW BUSINESS: Thanks to Hohn’s Construction and Ethan Coop Lumber for donating labor and materials for repairs to the Ethan Community Center. Oath of Office – Jason Koch has been sworn in to serve an additional 3 year term as a member of the Board of Directors. Railroad Extension Project – CHS had members present, as well as Ethan School to discuss this project. Adjourned until next meeting and we will contact other resources. Discussed Rental income used for ECC invoices. Building permits and waivers for Matt Tuttle and Jake Aragon approved on request by Riggs, assisted by Koch. Citizen petition by Becky Bryant for Vacated Alley approved on motion by Riggs, seconded by Koch. The ECC window was broken and repaired. Cameras will be installed.
