The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. at the historic New Hanover County Courthouse, 24 N. Third St, Room 301. The meeting can be streamed live on the county’s website, NHCTV or YouTube. A few items on the agenda:

  • A public hearing and review for approval to submit a joint application with the City of Wilmington to the JAG program for 2022 funding from the U.S. Department of Justice
  • An annual update from the New Hanover County Airport Authority
  • Review of NHC Board of Education Applications for Public School Building Fund and Public School Building Repair and Renovation Fund
  • Approval of Federal Grant Application for Community-Based Approaches to Address Factors Contributing to Structural Racism in Public Health

Tuesday August 23

The Carolina Beach City Council will be holding a workshop at 9 a.m. in the Board Room, 1121 N. Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach. The meeting can be streamed live on YouTube. The agenda includes:

  • Parking Committee Update
  • Short Term Rental Update

Wednesday August 24

The Topsail Beach Planning Council will meet at 10 a.m. at City Hall, 820 S. Anderson Blvd. The meeting can be streamed live online. An agenda was not published by the press.

Thursday August 25

Topsail Island Shoreline Protection Commission will meet at 2 p.m. at Topsail Beach Town Hall, 820 S. Anderson Blvd. An agenda and a link to live stream the meeting were not available in the press, but will be posted on the TISPC website.

The ABC Council of New Hanover County meets at 9 am at 6009 Market St. No agenda has been released by the press.

North Carolina State Port Authority council will meet at 9 a.m. in the council chambers of the North Carolina Maritime Building, 2202 Burnett Blvd. An agenda was not published by the press.

Cape Fear Public Transport Authority will meet at 12:30 p.m., Forden Station, 505 Cando St. It can be streamed live here or by phone via audio conference at (312) 757-3121, with passcode “844-936-749.” Items on the agenda include:

  • Fourth Quarter Update on Community Engagement and Awareness
  • Volkswagen settlement – award letter, vehicle maintenance chart
  • WMPO Funding Application for the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program – Directly Attributable Funds (STBGP-DA) for Passenger Amenity Improvements
